Versions and Platforms

- NTSC NES and All-Stars versions are both permitted.  NES version is faster just for reference.

- Console, emulator, Switch, NES Classic and Virtual Console are all permitted.

Rules

- You must join the discord server to participate.  If you are not joined to the discord server when registration closes, you will be dropped from the tournament.

- You are responsible to communicate with your opponent to schedule a time for your race.  Once a time is agreed, please register using the SpeedGaming submission form found in the Discord.

- If you are not reasonably sure that you can compete for your duration of the tournament, please refrain from joining.  Anything can happen in life, but if you're expecting something that would keep you away for an extended period of time rendering you unable to complete your match, please refrain from joining.

- All matches must be on on SpeedRunsLive (SRL).  If you have not used either of this platform before, please read the documentation on their website and familiarize yourself with how racing on there works.  It's not fair for everyone else when someone delays the race for 30 minutes trying to figure everything out spur of the moment.

- All matches must be streamed.  Even if all you have is a webcam pointed at a TV, that will work.

- This category is Warpless.  You may not take any warp zones to another world.

- You may use continues to restart a world if you game over.  This is achieved by pressing Start + A on the title screen. If you accidentally start back on 1-1 after a game over in a different world, you are permitted to warp back to the world you got a game over on.

Seeding

- Seeding will be based on your Warpless PB on speedrun.com

- If you do not have a Warpless PB but do have an Any% PB, you will be seeded below those with a Warpless PB.

- If you do not have either you will be seeded at the bottom.

Format

Group Stage

All participants will be placed in groups.  You will play one match (best of 1) against every opponent in your group.  A deadline will be given closer to time, but should be expected that you can do one match per week, but you can do them faster if desired.  You can play your opponents in any order.  The winners from each group will move on to the bracket stage.

Bracket Stage

The winners from the Group Stage will be seeded by PB into this bracket.  This will be a single elimination bracket and all matches will be best of 3.

Restream

- Your match may be restreamed on the SpeedGaming  or SMB1Community channels side by side with your opponent. Please mute all sounds except for the game itself.  No external music, mic, or alerts please.
